Hit a wall the FAQ did not cover? Here is how to get help fast.

Before you report

A few checks clear up most issues on their own.

Update to the latest build

Many fixes land between versions. Make sure you are on the current HotPotato jar before anything else.

Run the arena check

/hotpotato arena save <arena> lists anything missing from a setup, such as a spawn or a bounds corner.

Reload and re-test

Run /hotpotato reload after any config change, then try to reproduce the problem.

Check the server log

Look for a HotPotato line or a stack trace around the time of the issue. That text is the single most useful thing to share.

The more of this you can give, the faster a fix comes.

HotPotato version, server software (Spigot or Paper), and Minecraft version.

What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.

Any error or stack trace from the server console, pasted to a paste site.

The relevant part of config.yml, with passwords removed.

Never paste a real database password. Strip it from config.yml before sharing, as covered on the storage page.
